The lime-cycle: the alluvial and
mined rock is fired in ovens to
become burnt lime (calciumoxide).
Afterwards, in potholes, it is soaked
in water in a procedure called
slaking. The burnt lime now becomes
calciumhydroxide: slaked lime.
This slaked lime is an important
ingredient of FRESCOLORI® products.
After application to the subsurface
the water escapes and the limestone
absorbes CO2. Thereby the lime-cycle
is closed, the original, natural
limestone re-emerges. A spectacular
and delightful experience for every
processor, and all those people that
live in those rooms!
